Fernor is a late-flowered walnut specie of French origin. It should definitely be recommended for the climates which have problems with spring late frosts. It has the property of early-fruiting. Hull fruit weight is 10-12 gr, kernel weight is 4.5-5.4 gr. The kernel rate is between 42-47% and the kernel quality is very good. It grows in a medium strength and a semi-perpendicular shape. It is a fertile specie which has high side branch fruit rate. It is resistant to bacterial burns. It is pollinated with walnut sapling species such as Fernette and Ronde de Montignac.
